Apex EHPS Steering Boost Kit

Any time a Jeep JL or JT with eTorque is lifted and fitted with larger tires and/or high offset wheels, the drag on the factory electronic-hydraulic power steering unit is greatly increased...Deflate your tires for off-road use and it’s even worse.

The factory power steering system pressure is set low to help prevent system overheating. As is, it is enough steering power for up to 33 inch tires and stock offset wheels. However, with aftermarket performance parts and severe use, this factory system pressure and lack of fluid cooling can quickly become an issue when operating in intermediate to advanced off-the-road environments. 

APEX has found that the factory EHPS power steering pump is easily capable of running at a higher pressure. This Boost Kit helps to retune of the factory blowoff valve so that steering power can be increased by approximately 40%. While this is good news, the engineering trade-off of more fluid power equals more system heat. It is strongly recommended to include a power steering fluid cooler on any offroad rig using the APEX EHPS Steering Boost Kit to ensure stable, consistent performance.

WHAT DOES THE STEERING BOOST KIT FIX?
No more stalled steering in sub-freezing temperatures. Smooth steering in parking lots on hot days. Proper steering feel while on the sand dunes. Less feedback from terrain inputs. Easy steering while aired down. Overall it feels like stock, but no more weak steering issues or loss of steering power.

WHAT SIZE TIRES IS IT DESIGNED FOR?
It will work any size tire and result in overall improvement. A 39 inch tire is the recommended maximum tire size when using the APEX EHPS Boost Kit. Vehicles equipped with 40 inch or larger may experience "sticking" while aired down on high traction surfaces. Installed together with a PSC Cylinder Assist™ Kits, you will have all the power you need to tackle most terrains.

WHY DID APEX DESIGN THE BOOST KIT?
There is no middle ground on power steering upgrades. It is all or nothing.

NOTE: This boost kit MUST be used with a Power Steering Fluid Cooler to operate correctly. Purchasers of the standalone APEX EHPS Steering Boost Kit are responsible for installing an appropriate Power Steering Fluid Cooler.
